SUDS have many component parts - Hutchinson can help with supplying and installing water attenuation tanks up to 280,000 litres and various other methodologies to reduce the risk of flooding in urban and rural environments. SUDS consist of features and structures designed into a development to protect against flooding and pollution. SUDS can contribute amenity value to a development and provide habitats for flora and fauna.

They offer a means of near-replication of natural run-off and drainage thus miniimising the risk to our water bodies from the urban and rural environment. The need for SUDS is driven by our environmental regulators and planning authorities and they are no longer an option.

Usually SUDS will constitute a combination of basins, ponds, pipes, tanks, infiltration, permeable surfaces, swales, and filter drains with the best combination of structures and techniques being site specific.
